The X Factor auditions are coming to Chicago on April 27. If you think you’re the  next big star, we want to treat you like one.

FOX Chicago is teaming up with several local radio stations to give you front of the line passes for a guaranteed audition.

If you’re a singer or vocal group, age 12 or older, come out and strut your stuff on Saturday, April 2, 2011.

The Top 12 acts will compete live on FOX Chicago’s Good Day Chicago for a chance to win a front of the line pass.

FOX Chicago’s The X Factor Audition Pass Contest Rules

Who Can Enter

1. Entrants must be legal IL, WI or IN residents who are 12 years of age or older and have lawful access to the Internet and a valid e-mail address.

2. Employees of Fox Television Stations, Inc., owner of television station WLFD, Fox Broadcasting Company, and Clear Channel Radio (collectively, “Sponsor”), their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family and household members of each are ineligible. Additional eligibility criteria and restrictions are set forth in the official X-Factor Registration and Audition Rules, available at http://assets.fox.com/shows/thexfactor/downloads/information/The_X_Factor_Rules.pdf.

How To Enter

3. No purchase is necessary to enter or win.

4. The Contest will begin on or about Saturday, April 2nd 2011 at 10:00am CT and end on or about Friday, April 8th 2011 at 10am CT.

To enter, fill out an official entry form at Sponsor’s audition event, The audition event will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2011. The exact time and location of the audition event will be announced on air and on the internet at myfoxchicago.com,. Depending on the amount of contestants auditioning, Sponsor reserves the right to end registration prior to 2pm CT. One entry per person. Individuals and groups may audition, however no individual may participate in more than one entry. Entry forms must contain all information requested in order to be valid. Incomplete entries will be disqualified. All contestants must adhere to X Factor Registration and Audition Rules, found at the website described in rule #2

All Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected, mutilated, or incomplete entries.

Contestants will perform in front of a panel of judges, singing a cappella songs for thirty (30) seconds. All decisions of the judges are final. Each contestant will be chosen based on the following criteria:
-Originality
-Personality
-Creativity
-Inspiration
-Imagination

12 total finalists will be selected. Finalists will be notified by April 4, 2011 at the latest. Finalists will compete in groups of 3 on Good Day Chicago the week of April 4, 2011. The day on which each finalist appears will be determined by random drawing.

On Tuesday, April 5th 2011 at 9am CT, 3 finalists will perform on Good Day Chicago. Viewers will select their favorite of these 3 finalists via text or web from 9am – 12pm on Tuesday, April 5th 2011. Standard text messaging rates apply. The winner from among these 3 finalists will be determined by judges, who may take into consideration viewer votes.

On Wednesday, April 6th 2011 at 9am CT, 3 finalists will perform on Good Day Chicago. Viewers will select their favorite of these 3 finalists via text or web from 9am – 12pm on Wednesday, April 6th 2011. Standard text messaging rates apply. The winner from among these 3 finalists will be determined by judges, who may take into consideration viewer votes.

On Thursday, April 7th 2011 at 9am CT, 3 finalists will perform on Good Day Chicago. Viewers will select their favorite of these 3 finalists via text or web from 9am – 12pm on Wednesday, April 6th 2011. Standard text messaging rates apply. The winner from among these 3 finalists will be determined by judges, who may take into consideration viewer votes.

On Friday, April 8th 2011 at 9am CT, 3 finalists will perform on Good Day Chicago. Viewers will select their favorite of these 3 finalists via text or web from 9am – 12pm CT on Friday, April 8th 2011. Standard text messaging rates apply. The winner from among these 3 finalists will be determined by judges, who may take into consideration viewer votes.

Viewer voting will be in accordance with voting rules announced at the time votes are solicited. .

Should on-air finalist performances be pre-empted by breaking news, the contestants may be judged by Sponsor personnel off-air.

5. 4 total Grand Prize winners will be chosen, 1 from each day of finalist performances on Good Day Chicago. The winners will be notified Friday, April 8th 2011 by phone or e-mail. The winner(s) will be required to complete, sign and return a Certification of Eligibility and Release and claim the prize in a manner determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion within 3 days of the date of notification or they will be disqualified. If a prize is won by an eligible minor, then the winner’s parent or guardian must also sign the minor’s Certificate of Eligibility and Release before the winner receives his or her prize. If a winner is a group, all members of the winning group must submit a separate Certification of Eligibility and Release or the entire group will be disqualified. If a winner cannot be reached, or if a winner does not return the signed and completed Certification of Eligibility and Release and claim the prize within the designated time period, that prize will be awarded to the finalist from that day’s performance with the next-highest judges score if, in Sponsor’s reasonable discretion, time permits.

All decisions of the judges’ are final. If the entrant is unable to verify registration information the entrant will automatically be disqualified and their prize will be forfeited. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to select an alternate winner at that time.

 

The Prize(s)

6. 4 winner(s) will each receive:

• 1 front of the line pass to the X Factor national auditions happening 8am CT Wednesday, April 27th at the Sears Centre Arena, 5333 Prairie Stone Pkwy, Hoffman Estates, IL 60192.

Approximate retail value: $0.

In the event production of The X Factor is cancelled or postponed, prizing may be cancelled without substitution or compensation therefor.

7. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash or substituted for any other items by the winner(s). The winner(s) cannot assign or transfer prize. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a comparable prize of like or greater value, including cash, for any prize, for any reason.

8. The winner(s) is responsible for all local, county, state, and federal taxes on prizes based on the value of the prizes set forth in these rules.

9. Only one prize will be awarded per household.

Odds of Winning Miscellaneous

10. Odds of becoming a finalist depend on the number of contestants. For finalists, odds of winning are 1 in 3

11. Except where prohibited by law, entry constitutes permission to use a winner’s name, hometown, likeness, and photograph for broadcast, online posting, and/or any in any other media, including for advertising and publicity purposes, without additional compensation.

12. These giveaway rules are available at myfoxchicago.com and Monday through Friday during normal business hours at FOX Chicago, 205 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, Il. 60601, and at www.foxchicago.com, through April 27th, 2011.

13. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope after, April 27th, 2011 to: FOX Chicago, 205 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, Il. 60601.

14. This giveaway is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited or restricted by law, including without limitation, in jurisdictions requiring registration, filing, trust account, or posting of a bond, or any other requirements or disclosures that are not expressly satisfied by these rules. Sponsor is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, offering, or administration of the giveaway, or in the announcement of the prize.

15.
